Anemia

Definition/Types of Anemia:

Anemia is a condition that may exist when there is a low number of circulating red blood cells.

Symptoms:

May include weakness, feeling of being tired, looking pale, dizziness, SOB and cold hands or feet.

Diagnosis/Testing:

Doctors will diagnosis anemia with  use of a history report, physical exam and blood testing

Treatment:

Varies with reason for anemia

Summary:

Anemia may have many causes.  Symptoms can vary.  The treatment for anemia will depend on the cause and can vary in the time needed to correct.  Anemic conditions should be evaluated and treated by a physician.
