About Us

Mission Statement

The Indianapolis Gastroenterology Research Foundation exists to promote and fund gastroenterology education and research applicable to contemporary issues and clinical problems in the community setting.

More On Indy Gastro Research Foundation

The physicians of Indianapolis Gastroenterology and Hepatology founded the Indianapolis Gastroenterology Research Foundation in 1991. They registered the foundation as a not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation. Initially, the physicians supported the foundation with donations from their own salaries. Today, the Indianapolis Gastroenterology Research Foundation receives most of its funding by administering colonoscopy screening programs for corporate sponsors, from pharmaceutical companies who sponsor clinical trials, and from grants awarded by agencies like the National Cancer Institute.

About Us Dis You Know

Indianapolis Gastroenterology and Hepatology and its physicians do not own IGRF. The foundation exists as a completely separate corporation. However, physicians from IGH volunteer to serve on the foundation’s board of directors and to conduct research studies on behalf of the foundation. The foundation and the physicians receive no financial benefit from the studies conducted.
