Bloomington, Indiana native, Dr. Lucas M. Drake, is the Medical Director and a member of the Board of Managers for The Endoscopy Center at St. Francis. Dr. Drake sees patients in Indianapolis.
Dr. Drake graduated from Indiana University in 2000 and later earned his Doctor of Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Internship, Residency, and Gastroenterology Fellowship with advanced training in Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Dr. Drake joined Indianapolis Gastroenterology and Hepatology in 2011.
Dr. Drake has participated in medical mission trips in Africa and Haiti. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and has been recognized by Castle Connolly as one of the region’s Top Doctors. For recreation, Dr. Drake and his family enjoy traveling.

Went in to see Dr Drake and he listened to everything about the symptoms I am having! Very thorough and insightful! Created a plan of action to see what is going on and how to treat it! Highly recommend!

Had an esophagus dilation scheduled at the Endoscopy Center at St Francis hospital having had many of these over the years for difficult swallowing I was familiar with the process . The nurses get right to it preparing you for the procedure appropriate questions are asked for your safety . Anesthesiologist will advise you of the sedation medication used and reassures you that it is safe and Dr Crane will do the same.also Dr Drake depending upon who does the procedure. At this hospital I have always had the safest procedures . Much gratitude for all at the Endoscopy Center at St Francis Hospital.
I think Dr.Drake is very personable and I believe that he knows his stuff. I have only met him about 3 times now but hope to change that. I am required to have a mid year office visit and hope to do that by scheduling with him. His physician assistants are equally capable but I think that you come to know your doctor better when you consistently schedule your appointments with them. I have my colonoscopies every two years. Seeing the same doctor makes a difference!
Dr. Drake is a wonderful and kind doctor. He really took the time to listen to me. He also takes the time to answer any questions and explain things. I was a bit nervous before endoscopy but he put me at ease.

Dr. Drake always takes the time to explain things to me and answer questions. He takes the time to help you find the least expensive pharmacy for your medication. He is also straight forward and honest while being very kind. Parking is an issue, I drove around for 10 minutes and saw a couple near accidents because people were frustrated. My particular appointment could have been virtual which would have freed up parking and given Dr. Drake more time for other patients.
Recommend 10/10! Dr. Drake and all the staff were so friendly and professional. Made the appointment I was dreading easy peezy.

Is the best. He painlessly handled me. But he pulled 2 wisdom teeth and did not write me something for pain. I had a funeral and am a caregiver.i thought I was going to die. One his young staff was rude saying I was pill seeking. So I suffered thur it. I'll not go back for being mis judged and argue with me a 63 yr old woman in excellent condition missing only 3 teeth. But the doctor was and is awesome.sets up a game plan long term for your mouth. Excellent Dr. Just loved him.

Dr. Drake went above & beyond to complete my Colonoscopy. Due to an administrative error, I found out upon my arrival that I wasn't on the schedule! Dr. Drake took me in & got the exam completed, thoroughly & professionally. I'm extremely grateful for his flexibility & excellent care.
